Does anyone know the directions from taipei train station to shi da university. What bus should I take? Can I walk or is it too far?
You could walk, but it’s a damn long walk. Best bet from Taipei Main station would be to take the MRT to Guting and walk from there, down… Heping East Rd (that’s the right one, isn’t it? Someone?) for a couple of minutes. At least I think that’d be the best way.

(My MA, Ph.D. and second MA theses/dissertation ALL used a listening passage in Chinese for people to rate. The topic? How to get from Shita to Taipei Main Station on the bus. It was played 18 times for each administration of the experiment…you can imagine how well I know how to get to the train station by now!

If you don’t want to walk from Kuting MRT, buses 3, 15, and 18 all stop at Shita and come from the Train Station.

And if you do want to take the MRT, the walk from Taipower will be quicker than from Guting. But the 15 and 18 buses are probably best.
