Oh man, that is truly awful news. We Care was great.
I noticed the one on Zhong-Xaio E. Rd. sec 5 was closed Wed when I strolled by. I thought it was odd, but didn’t suspect this. 
Terrible news–and a branch on Xinyi (between Lishui and Yongkang) had just opened.
I wanted to say something snotty like only us foreigners think its a decent place (because ‘strange’ stuff we like like Salt n Vinegar chips never lasts long here) but the place was always packed. Hopefully they have some franchises that work independently…
ohhh I hope so…hope its like a Joy school branch…one goes under but it doesnt affect the others.
so the Xindian one will be open tomorrow Mr Mucha…I shall go there, dip myself in flour and protest.

Well, that’s what the sign said, but I wouldn’t trust it. They might have been told during their two day closure that the company was going under.

The latest news I’ve been able to pick up is that the laoban has disappeared. He had apparently been sounding out possibilities for selling the business, but nothing came of that, so he’s done a runner.
There may be a ray of hope, however, that someone will come in, buy it, and keep it going. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. I really think it ought to be a highly profitable proposition, and if I were a businessman with large amounts of capital available, I’d be very interested.
I feel very sorry for the staff, who haven’t been paid and may never receive the wages they’re owed. Some of the girls working in the Sindian branch were very friendly and pleasant, and it’s rotten to think of them being bilked out of their meagre and hard-earned pay.
wecare went benkrupt? damn that was my favorite bakery next to maison kayser. but one of their brnaches was quite close to my home, so i visit wecare much more often. loved their baguette and the new focaccia.
thats really bad news.
i was already wondering why the store was closed and thought they were on some sort of company trip / holiday.
