Discussion topic: How would a limited nuclear strike affect the UK economy?

That’s smart. Would CB radio work ?

Not very long distance is it.

I was just talking about downtown .

You’d need a string of them— like Lord of the Rings style.

Excellent analysis

They can test them.

subtitle is rather dumb!

It’s interceptable (you can tie another string and cup to it), you can sever the cable, you can’t verify who is on the other end, and the largest security issue of all, the person on the other end will sell you out for less than you’d thought possible

Asking how a nuclear strike would affect the economy of a country is like asking the resale value of a house after it’s burned down.

Any such strike on the UK or indeed any country brings an equal and implied threat to every other country. The most immediate issue is not the effect on the economy, but the threat of further strikes, rendering the entire question moot. A nuclear strike of any capacity would likely be followed by curfews and possibly a declaration of martial law in the face of clouds of radioactive smoke drifting over the country and possibly also threatening, depending on the wind, the European mainland. Curfews, etc, would be to try to stall the effects of inevitable mass panic, especially in major population centres. I’d expect the exchange to get locked down, the government to disappear into bunkers in anticipation of further strikes, and, I very greatly suspect, the return of food rationing since, after all, there’s a very great risk existing stocks could be affected by radioactive rain. Further, other countries might well seek to stockpile their own supplies fearing attack themselves, rather than send them to the UK, and vice versa.

What you get, is the complete collapse of the economy.

Kiev, Scotland the first. Btw how to buy iodine tablets and do they store well.
Secondly what about Anthrax ?

It’s just potassium iodide, and the same as you’d use as a supplement. You’d probably want to check the dosage.
