Divorce

Just for my reference a personal question.

If a couple has agreed for a mutual divorce, how will in general the alimony settlement look like ?

Is there a general taiwanese law about this subject that one partner has to agree to pay for the other (former) partner, either in a lump sum or in monthly payments ?

Or is it up to each couple to agree on own individual terms ?
And if so, where can I find the specific taiwanese law referring to individual terms ?

Thank you

Normally you can just write the terms of the divorce in those books you can buy at any bookstore here and take it to the household registration place with 2 witnesses. Easiest thing in the world.

If one person gets shitty, hardest thing in the world…

I suggest recording everything all the time until its over.

I have been told by various government bodies that those divorce booklets are next to meaningless ince shit hits the fan (angry court type situations)…so, back to recording agreements.

Articles 1049~1058 of Civil Code are on divorce. Articles around them are on related issues.

if two parties agree, it can be any way, but if not and it goes to a court, a standard by law may be applied.
