i’d like to link one of these up to my laptop but am unsure if there are digital (english broadcasts) in taipei. what sort of price range am i looking at for a good one?

No English only Chinese. Why would you think there would be English for Taiwan? I really wish there was some English terrestial digital TV. I would settle for one news channel, would even pay a small fee.
