To me, that seems quite a lot.
Doctors get paid better in America only, and they also work much longer hours. Doctors in other countries get paid the same as pilots.
I’ve never heard of any one actually working 100 hours/week in Taiwan. The most is like maybe 60.
Besides being mostly boring - I couldn’t be responsible for flying an aircraft full of people.
Big airplanes are so complex. The pilots are responsible for saying “yeah, this is good to fly” which means you agree with every pot smoking, alcoholic mechanic they’ve never met who serviced the airplane.
I’ve personally rebuilt a puddle jumping airplane and flown it.
As a pilot I’ve never worried about travels in my own airplane but always, always stressed out when flying commercial.
You run much higher odds of dying in a bus or car crash than a plane crash, even commercial flights.
Especially in Taiwan where people don’t care about road safety.
I would say the work life here is indifferent to Japan, slowly getting there
