Do guys really want a "sassy" girl?

Do you secretly want a sassy girl?

  • Yes, the sassier the better!
  • A little sassy can be sexy.
  • No way. I want a nice girl.

I was talking with a very good guy friend of mine a while back and he claimed that all men secretly pine for a “sassy” girl.

The topic came up when we were discussing the Korean movie My Sassy Girl. Personally, I was disgusted by the behavior of the lead female character. I couldn’t bear to watch her bitching everyone out, slapping and hitting guys and telling everyone what to do. I know S. Korean actress Jeon Ji-Hyun is a major babe and all, but do guys really long to be physically assualted and ordered around by a girl as long as she’s cute enough?

The current coke commercials/ads in Taiwan seem to be perpetuating this sassy is sexy idea. What do you guys think?

I saw that ad with my gal who asked me if I thought she should treat me that way. Hmmmmm . . . . . :ponder: . . . uhh . . . NO BLOODY WAY!!!

:taz:

A little sass in a spunky and teasing sort of way is fine, but the brat in that ad is a psycho bitch. Nobody is THAT hot! :no-no:

Well, the girl must look like Ann Nicole Smith, back before she gained 40 pounds, be very rich, and ready to pay for my upkeep, and have unsurpassed skills in bed…

Then… maybe.

If she’s just the tiniest bit inferior to what I wrote above… No FU*KING WAY!

Lively and spirited, big YES!

Bossy and rude, big NO!

Sassy:

  1. Rude and disrespectful; impudent.
  2. Lively and spirited; jaunty.
  3. Stylish; chic: a sassy little hat.

What exactly are we talking about here? I like people who are lively and spirited, as opposed to dead fish. Rude and disrespectful? Who needs it?

Let’s not argue about semantics…

What Erhu meant was 1. Rude and disrespectful; impudent.

The 2 last ones hardly detract, I guess.

Let’s define our terms:
[quote="Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary
"]Main Entry: sassy
Pronunciation: 'sa-sE
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): sass

Sassy gets really annoying after the first 6 months. If my wife was “sassy” - after 10 years of marriage and 13 of knowing her I’d be in the loony bin…wait a minute. :astonished:

Unfortunately, many women confuse “sassy” with “bitchy”. I have found this to be particularly true among American women, who are programmed from the time they learn to watch TV to be insufferable.

As but one of many examples, I went on a personals-ad date with some chick who turned out to be a blackjack dealer at one of Illinois’ riverboat casinos. Favorite quote of the night: “all men are pigs, but that’s ok because all women are bitches.” Ok, good luck, hon.

Sassy? Sounds like an uppity little tramp to me.

That could describe a number of Taiwanese women aka “princesses”.

I always thought a ‘sassy’ girl was a woman/girl who was really cute/pretty/beautiful but filled with a whole lotta confidence, allure and charming. Kinda of like madonna in "Despretely seeking susan’.

I take it to mean a girl who’ll answer back to you in the wittiest, sweetest way possible with a good dose of sauce.

Well given the fact “My Sassy Girl” was loosely based on a true story in Korea of a poor kid blogging about the troubles his “sassy” girl got him into…I guess some guys do pine for a drunken sassy girl in a motel room.

I voted with option #2. Sassy in moderation. I can’t be bothered to deal with those that feel they have to vindicate how much tougher they are than I, or those too timid to try a lot of new things. Moderation. I love that word. :howyoudoin:

Well, nice girls are easier to be with, the bad sassy ones usually have it in the mouth only… They can be bad, talk bad, but when you get them to bed, they would appear not to know what to do apart from spreading their legs.

Sassy girls (in the negative meaning of the word) are immature girls.

Or Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde ? I don’t find her attractive at all but when I think sassy, I think of her.

Then there was this girl in HS …

So how do you ladies rate yourselves on a Sassy Scale of one to ten, according to your own understanding of what the word means?

Would I be wide of the mark to guess that Erhu is a four and Gloria a six?

Using M-W’s definition for sassy:

[quote]
Main Entry: sassy
Pronunciation: 'sa-sE
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): sass

In my mind: a DYNAMITE 10

in reality: depends on the time of the month…
