Do I have to pay customs

Hi there, I hope somebody can give me an educated answer. I accepted a job in Taiwan and I will be living and working in Taipei for at least 2-3 years. I am moving over there from the US. Now for this time I would like to take some of my belongings with me and I was wondering if I need to pay any form of customs or fees to be able to take my stuff with me.

I would appreciate any help that you guys can provide.

Generally you won’t pay customs on personal items you own. There may be exceptions for some goods less than 12 months old. I never had any duties to pay and my sister still sends me packages from time to time.
