Does anyone have any experience setting up a company and using a DBA name?
I am setting up a Taiwan company with experienced partners and I said we didn’t have to sweat registration of the English company name, the Chinese name is sufficient since it is the legal entity we are establishing. In our supply contract with our foreign licensor, we should use the Chinese company name and then qualify it by adding “DBA English Company Name”
Am I right? My lead partner has complained that in all her 40 years doing business in Taiwan, she has never seen an agreement with a Chinese name DBA English name.
I searched the forums, and this seems to be the last reference to someone talking about doing business with a DBA, but this person isn’t talking about it in the Taiwan context.
There are some old references to companies that operate with a DBA names:
More recently, but still some time ago, @llary mentioned that the concept of a DBA does and does not exist.
