😷 COVID - Do USA arrivals need PCR test to come to Taiwan?

In the US they don’t really know how to administer PCR tests. The stick barely goes up into your nose. They should learn from the Taiwanese nurses, who drill all the way into the back of your brain.

Going into the back of the brain for 2 seconds is against the way the tests were designed. Most are designed to be inside (deep enough to get something from your nose) for 20-30 seconds - per nostril! Turn around 5 times in each…

But with omicron testing at the throat has proven to be much more effective than in the nostril (no matter where) - so in throat for 20-30seconds or just do spit/gargle tests. (those are very good as long as you don’t use mouthwash in the last 30 minutes before the test).

So Taiwan is not better at all here vs USA… But they go for crazy CT values (not that each test method/provider the CT is not directly comparable. So very likely the Taiwanese tests at 30 CT are like 25 in most parts of the world.
