Documentary: 看不見的國家 (Invisible Nation)

For sure, timing is everything. But give them credit. They avoided extremism and that’s also largely part why so many can stomach it. People don’t want another DPP vs Chinese KMT rant on the big screen. Which so many end up being and hated by everyone within the margins of extreme.

I think almost ignoring CSB would have been fine, I just thought totally ignoring him was a bit weird. Not even a passing reference or a silent image like an inauguration. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t speak English. Of course, they were trying to put Taiwan in the best light possible but not even a very short, oblique reference was kind of like putting their head in the sand (Chen? Chen who?). There really should be documentary devoted solely to him. A fascinating political figure akin to Nixon who has had countless docs or TV pieces.

Google movie listings still has showings scheduled throughout Taipei until at least Tuesday.

I agree. Despite his misgivings, he helped all of us a lot. We don’t get Tsai without Chen. Although, we also don’t get Ma without Chen haha

I went to see it yesterday at the Xinyi Vieshow and the theatre was almost full! We had to choose some seats in the corners that people avoid. Also, it was quite lovely to see people of all ages and full families going together to see the movie.
