Does any one know good Tradicional Chinese Medicine doctor?

Can anyone please advice good Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor? I’ve been looking for one for a long time but no luck. I know there are quite a few in Taiwan but I would rather go to see a doctor that has a good reputation. I have checked the posts here but cannot seem to find any names.Thank you.

No, because there’s no such thing.

Chinese medicine is not medicine at all. It does not cure, it does not prevent, it does not even treat symptoms. It does not stand up to scientific scrutiny. Most Chinese medicine is based on folklore from times when people did not understand how the human body actually works. It’s no more reliable than religion and mythology.

Would you like to see my medical certification? Actually, it’s emergency medicine, so it’s not of a huge help in this instance. But during my training, we often discussed how culture and religion can adversely influence medical decisions. Many cultures have different rites and rituals that interfere greatly with modern medicine. We’re taught all sorts of techniques to encourage people to allow us, the professionals, to treat patients appropriately. This way we can take living patients to the hospital, and not dead ones to the morgue. Chinese medicine was one such cultural phenomenon we covered.

There is a multitude of studies I can point you to that discuss Chinese Medicine. I point you in the direction of The Lancet (a peer-reviewed medical journal from the UK) and the New England Journal of Medicine (a peer-reviewed medical journal from the US). The American Medical Association also publishes a peer-reviewed journal. These are all available through libraries as well as online.

Additionally, Quackwatch.com is also a valuable resource for debunking health fraud.

If you speak Chinese I know one. But I would rather not just randomly post his info on a forum. So you can PM me for his info. But he doesn’t speak English. So unless you speak Korean or Chinese…

If someone tells you that alchemy is not a form of chemistry, but a bunch of superstitious nonsense that does not stand up to scientific inquiry, how do you respond?

a. Of course. The only people who continue to believe in alchemy are the same idiots who believe in astrology and faith-healing.
