Dog Courier for Mission Sakura: Taipei - San Francisco

Mission: Fly this pup to San Francisco.

Once known only as “Puppy A” (sister of pups B & C…), Sakura now has a real name and a real home. The lucky family who’ve adopted her live in Reno, Nevada, USA, so Sakura gets to take an airplane ride! She’ll be all immunized and documented and ready to fly in mid-December.

Mission Sakura is a covert operation because Sakura is a surprise for one in the family (who once had a dog who looked like our Sakura…).
(if you’re in Reno, remember: LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS).

The Courier must possess an airplane ticket from Taipei to San Francisco departing anytime from mid-December on. Sakura can travel as “excess baggage” on that ticket. A direct flight is ideal, but other itineraries may be possible.

A US-based secret agent (cleverly disguised) is already standing by in San Francisco to meet Sakura and drive her to Reno. A Taiwan-based secret agent (also in clever disguise) will bring her to the airport in Taoyuan. Sakura’s “excess baggage” fee will be taken care of by a secret organization. Sakura herself plans to travel disguised as a fruitcake.

All the Courier (disguise optional) needs to do is to allow us to add Sakura to your ticket as “extra baggage.” Dogs are allowed to travel on airplanes in kennels with the suitcases, so the Courier won’t be babysitting a puppy during flight.

If you’ve got what it takes* – the sharpest eye, the keenest nose, the quickest ear, the fleetest toes, and the airplane ticket – to take on this mission, contact us please!

*ok actually all it takes is the plane ticket, TPE - San Fran…)

I’m going to SF, but not until late April.

Chris: Thanks for the reply! If Sakura’s still on this island in April, I’ll certainly be calling on you!

But I’m really hoping to get her out of here sooner, while she’s still sort of shrimpy, and before I get even more attached to her than I already am…

So if anyone who sees this knows anyone (who knows anyone) who’s going to/thru SF sometime sooner than Apr., please tell them about Sakura!!

THE CHERRY BLOSSOM HAS LANDED

(mission accomplished!)

Great to hear. It is a very cute pup and the new owner will certainly be delighted with such a melting look in its eyes!

That’s fantastic. :bravo:

I’m sure you’ll agree, BK, that these acts of compassion seem a little daunting at first but the perfect ending is always just around the corner as long as we don’t give up. The end result is well worth the hassle, right?

Looking forward to seeing pics of the pup in SF. :sunglasses:

O it’s true!

As StrayD says, I was daunted in the beginning, actually desperate is the better description… Now I am just amazed and inspired: by random coincidences that turned out to be “yuanfen” and by the kindness of complete strangers. Because of this puppy I have met so many people who really care about animals and who are constantly going out of their way to help.

And ceevee369 is right about the owners being delighted!.. As the proud and doting fosterperson, I must say it sounds like Sakura has charmed the socks off of everyone in her new family! (even the sockless). They say she is brave and smart and cute and good! The husband, wife, and two kids all LOVE her, their two dogs love to play with her, and even their many cats (not so fond of the other dogs) seem to love little Sakura! They said that it snowed on her second day there and Sakura sat at the window, barking at the snow coming down; then when they let her out, she ran around jumping, trying to catch the flakes in her mouth…
