Doing taxes early (filing for 2022)

Hi Folks,

I’ve decided to go home in July and not return to work in Taiwan. I need to file my taxes for 2022 before I leave. I’ve been in the country since November 2021. I know you need some tax documents to complete the process. My question is since I’m filing early what kind of tax documents do I need? And how do they look like?

You can go to the tax office to do this. In normal times I think you might have been able to do it at the airport but probably not now. When you go, they might already have your earnings data for 2022, if your employer has already supplied this, but you should take your payslips just in case. Hopefully someone who has done this before can offer a better insight.

Would I need payslips from January to July then?

Yes, if your employer didn’t report your earnings the tax office yet. Take them just in case.
