So I asked one of my coworkers out for a date the other week. She said she’d think about it, then called me a bit later to say ok. The first thing she says to me when we meet up is that she’s not looking for anything right now, and she doesn’t date coworkers. So I say that’s fine, we could just stay friends. We spent the entire day together, and I didn’t get any signals of her distancing herself from me, nor were there any awkward moments. As we were about to go home, we even took a detour and dinner suggested by her. So I thought, cool, the friendship isn’t over.
The next day she avoids me like the plague. And this goes on for a week, and now she’s slowly talking to me again. I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know how to act around her now. Why was everything fine during the hanging out after rejection, and then awkward after?
