I am coming to Taiwan to spend a year studying chinese at NTU and I was wondering what type of housing options are avaliable. I really want to live in a dorm like place, and not in a hostel. I was reading information about this International House in Taipei, but they didnt give any prices and I also would want to live with a roommate preferably and not by myself, but if worst comes to worst then I will.
Anyways, do you guys have any suggestions?

Hey SophieEd, I’ll actually be studying at NTU this summer, but I think I’ve already found housing. I’ve already spent a year in Taipei so at the very least I can help you out with directions and translating if you cannot find a place before you get to Taipei.

I talked to a friend who is in a dorm by herself in central Taiwan, I think the rent is something like $200 USD a month.
Seems like a really good price so hopefully you can find something like that. I don’t really know much about this topic though.
