I’ve been reading the Dragonlance Series here in Taipei. I have another friend, a long-time reader of the series in Taichung. I thought it would be a good idea to begin a forum discussing the books and possibly organizing a book swap as well, should members be interested in it.
I’m currently finishing the Fifth Age Trilogy by Jean Rabe. I’d like to move on to the Dhamon Saga after that. By the time anyone responds to this, i’ll likely have already started, but let’s talk anyway.
First question:
What do you think of Jean Rabe’s writing compared to Weis and Hickmann? Personally, I’ve found that Rabe describes melee and battle scenes more effectively than Weis and Hickman, but that the later provide better dialogue.
Second question:
Favorite character/characters?
I’m a big fan of kenders. Raistlin is pretty cool, though i was disappointed by the way he ended up, at least as far as I’ve read. I like Feril and Rig in the Fifth Age Trilogy as well.
Third question:
Any RPG players out there? I’ve got one friend who is an experienced Gamemaster in a number of game systems and we’re thinking about starting up a some games but need additional players. I’d love to do a Dragonlance-based game. Any takers?
