So, we have a Places button at top of the main page on desktop and in the dropdown menu at the top left of mobile, which leads to a list of place names which link to those tag pages. Kind of a quick and dirty approach that Discourse made easy. Give it a try

Got rid of those click counters, annoying
I’ll revise this soon with some of the updated place tags, generic places, and maybe some key generic topics as well
