Drivers licences

I went to the Taipei MVD site (tcmvd.gov.tw/english/en_d2k駕_frm.htm) - what does it mean - All who get a “dot” in column one can drive here - no worries - no time limit?

Some here say you need to go and have it stamped - but my chinese wife rang them - and tells me they said - no need!!!

So should I upset my wife by telling her (once again) that I have different information!!!

Well it wouldn’t surprise me that phoning the department would give you a different answer than the info on their web page. That is very typical of Taiwan. But the info on their web page means that if your country or state has a dot in the first column you are allowed to use your international licence, but you have to get a pemit to use it.
