After reading the articles linked by Rascal, I got the feeling that maybe the couple adopted for more than personal reasons. Thought they couldn’t have their own kids? Maybe, but I got the feeling that maybe they thought that adopting a local would help grease some political wheels in the asian work posts. After all, the girl was raised by nannys and house keepers. At least the articles, mad it sound that way. What other four month old is adopted but developes bonding problems and has parents who don’t realise that she can speak some of their native language? Bonding problems do not come from infants. They come from adults wh can’t be arsed to make the effort.
