e-Bay Bikes and Cheese sandwiches

What’s up with buying bikes on e-bay over here?

I checked the bike listings and the prices seemed low.

I’m guessing they’ve been munched and rebuilt or they are without plates.

Anybody every bought a bike on e-bay or heard of anybody buying one?

I didn’t see any cheese sandwiches that looked like the Virgin Mary.

Still looking.

Bubba,

Been doing something similar myself. Mostly through Yahoo auctions, after a few phone calls, it seems price is relative to legality so far.

yea there are some great deals there, but alot of em are real hincky.
plus some real funny stuff.
My personal fav so far was the guy who was trying to convince me that a suzuki that has not been produced since the late 70’s early 80’s was only 5 years old.
nice try.
Eventually I gave up on yahoo bikes.
:s

only way to not get burned buying yahoo bike is to:

a.) not be too concerned about legailty…
b.) arrive to check out the bike with an encyclopedic knowledge of all models of Japanese bikes from the last 20 years and an intimate understanding of motorcycle mechanics…

that said there are diamonds in the rough to be found, but you’ll need to know your stuff and wade through a lot of crap to find them…
