I live near Qizhang MRT station and work near Jingmei and Wanlong MRT stations. I begin work at 8am and for various reasons that would take too long to explain it is looking like the Chinese class I wanted to do this year might be best if it was done before I start work. So I’d be looking to study 4 or 5 mornings a week for 1 - 2 hours. I’ve looked at TLI (Taiwan Language Institute) and TMI (Taiwan Mandarin Institute) and neither one of them have classes that begin that early in the morning. I’ve also done the private tutor route before in order to meet before work but would prefer to try a class this time.
Does anyone know of another language institute on that end of Taipei that might have very early class times?
(Failing that, does anyone know of one that does 1 - 2 hour classes from about 5pm. I finish work at 4:30. Again TLI and TMI, according to their sites, seem to offer classes on at about 7 in the evening, which is too late a start for me).
Thanks.
P.S. Any tips on how to change your password. It doesn’t seem to be immediately obvious.
An amendment to my post: I spoke with TMI (Taiwan Mandarin Institute) this evening and they told me that if myself and 2 or 3 other people wished to study in an early morning class (6 to 8 am) there’s a good chance a teacher might be available to teach it. Please leave me a reply here if you are looking to study at a similar time.
Thanks, yeah, I’ve asked around at other places in the area I can reach, and asked friends. They all think I’m crazy to study at that time… so I’m looking for tutor 7 to 8 am. Any tips on where to find one?!
I’m an early bird too, I am also looking for private tutoring (shared, if possible), and I live nearby. If our Chinese levels roughly match, I’d be happy to share a tutor with you. My level is low, but not zero. I know some 500 characters and can speak a little (very little). Would that fit?
I also live in dapinglin, my level is intermidiate ( TOCFL level 3),
Does anyone intersted in learning in the weekend (Intensive class 5 hours per day/Sat and Sun)?

I’m not sure what level that is? I’d be interested in finding someone for weekend hours to join me in a class. I find myself too boring
and I like to hear different thinking so I like group class better.
My level is somewhere in New Practical Chinese book 3…you know those books everyone has. Anyone at this level?
Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find anyone else for the morning class. There wasn’t enough to meet the requirement.
I do, however, now have a new opening in my schedule, from 5 to 7 p.m. so I’ve started looking for a class at this time. Here’s my post about that. Let me know if you’d like to join:
I’m looking to start a Chinese class at a school near Taipower. The time slot would be 5pm to 7pm Mon - Thur. We’d do it for a month, review the end of book One of Practical Audio Visual Chinese, then if the class worked well for people start a 3 month class after that covering book 2. Price depends partly on numbers, but around 200 NT an hour is a good estimate. Anyone interested? tmichinese.com/
