Earthquakes 2016

Just felt another, small but noticeable.

Yup, 4.0. I wish I weren’t so danged sensitive to these puppies.
Well, they did warn us there would be more.

A theoretical quetsion: if Turtle island is a volcano and it suddenly blasts off, where will the wind carry the ashes to?
Most likely toward the east.

You are not kidding. I swear i got as good as a seismograph on Taiwan. I could feel every single tiny tremor. I became ultra sensitive to any movement in any direction. It was very unnerving. Finally giving me what amounts to battlefield fatigue.

It’s better not to be as sensitive as a seismograph. Does you no good anyways.

14 quakes in 2 hours. Hang on to… something…

We’re having a break in Yilan, the party is back in Hualien.

I hope you don’t regularly shop at the PxMart there Ibis

More than half of businesses fail in safety inspections

Which means they passed three of the eight! WOHO!
I usually go to Pxmart when I’m in Luodong. In Yilan city there’s Carrefour, which is usually a bit cheaper and has more variety of products. I’m curious to know which of the Pxmart in Yilan had this problem, there are so many!

Several quakes down South this weekend, a couple of 5 pointers. Keep alert. Replenish emergency supplies.

Mild quake right now!

MILD??? Well, not on the 10th floor in Danshui, it wasn’t.

Not only did it go on for a very, very long time, it was much noisier than the previous ones that have been hitting.

Mild in terms of strenght shake, but way too long. It also had a sound. I heard it from a distance. It is a common phenomena in the ol country, but rare here, at least for me.

M7.2!!! No wonder that one took a while to stop.

Worse: epicenter: Keelung. Too damn close.

Huge quake off the coast of Jilong. Watch out for Tsunami warnings.

Epicenter was 73.1 ENE of Keelung and 271km deep. Just as well is was far away and very deep.

A magnitude 7.2 is nothing to sneeze at. I guess being that deep lessens tsunami danger, right?

US, Japan and HK are saying 6.2 - 6.4, apparently.

It also means aftershocks will be around 5 or 6, so we will feel them too. Or at least, sensitive people will.

*hopefully it will be a lesser magnitude. Honestly, I have been in way too many 7 pointers in my life. Don’t need to break no record.

really depends on what happens to the sea floor.
