Earthquakes 2018

What if it is really the PRC trying to bring the ROC to its knees.
Step 1: Activate the dormant volcano 6 miles off of Hualien’s coast. Thus activating all tectonic plates around Taiwan and causing massive damage island wide.
Step 2: Watch as Taiwan bends its knee into submission as the economy tanks and people beg for help from the PRC.
Step 3: Demand submission through unification with the mainland in exchange for mercy.

How was this all done?

Sharks with lasers. They use laser sharks to shoot up the dormant volcano!

Looks like the guy who supervised the construction of the hotel in hualien wasn’t even a professional and hired randomz to get the job done on the cheap.

This is so unrealistic. Everybody knows that Chinese sharks have all had their fins cut off.

…which would explain why the iron bars were “cut” as if by a Decepticon’s laser, instead of bent or split any other logical physical property…

Anyone realize how many we ended up on for Feb of 2018?
https://www.cwb.gov.tw/V7e/earthquake/seismic.htm

Exactly 500.

I better hear some good conspiracy theories about this. (i think jesus)

Better 500 small quakes from February 1st to February 28th than nothing for four years , and then a big one on February 29th.

I wish Kaohsiung would get a few small ones to release some pressure.

It’s been eerily quiet for too long. I worry we have a big one around the corner.

finally I am number one

I felt it

Slight, gentle swaying. I thought it was the Wine.

Felt like a wave to me. Lifted me up and down a bit. Im surprised its only a 1 in Taipei.

Slightly worrying to see how shallow the recent trend in activity has been.

Why do I keep reading of attempts and incentives to boost tourism to hualien and help them recover from the earthquake? Apart from the hotel built with clay I didn’t read news about businesses being affected by it. Was there widespread damage, apart from some roads/highway pillars?

Saw this interview with the owner from The Salt Lick last week. Might shed some light on it.

Small one in Taipei City a few hours ago. Only 2.6, but the epicenter was in Taipei City!

I’m assuming it came from a pile driver at a construction site.

I see there’s been a slight uptick in activity today. I also see that I was sitting at my desk reading the newspaper for the Taipei one. I don’t know if it’s good or bad that I’m not feeling these.

That article makes me want to hop on a train and go to Hualien for ribs and a steak.

Or ride there! I’ll be there soon. Hope to get some ribs then.
