Expect some pre typhoon movement.
A serious quake—reportedly 6.6—hit Sichuan, with rescue efforts apparently complicated by COVID restrictions on movement. With scorching temperatures, water shortages, and now this, those guys have not had an easy time lately.

I think I got this wrong. Based on more reports I’ve read (all from Beijing, so better sources actually from Sichuan must be available) the continuing rain is causing havoc. The restrictions on movement seem to be centered on the megacities including Chengdu, which was shaken by the quake but thankfully not devastated by it.
