Easy word game - please read rules in the blue box

Hi guys. Easy game here.

In an effort to get this Fun & Games forum up and running, here’s an easy game.

All you have to do is take the last letter of the posted word and make that the first letter of the next word.

The only other rule is that the new word has to have something in common with the old word.

E.g. if the first word is “elephant”, then the next one could be “trunk”. The next word would then begin with “k” and have something to do with “trunk”.

OK, so let’s start with the word “watch”.

Edit: If a word ends with “y”, you can use the penultimate letter instead of the last letter as the first letter of the next word.

Edit 2: Anything other than single words which can be found in the English dictionary will be disallowed.

Edit 3: Well-known names are allowed (only one word, though)

hour

rate (as in “hourly rate”)

electricity (as in “paying your rates”)
electricity (as in “paying your rates”)
yield (as in the verb used with energy)

By the way, there’s a rule about “y” words now (cos believe me, there’ll be a lot of them). Please see initial post.

Bollox, I can’t edit the initial post… :frowning:

OK, for the people who NOTICE THIS, if a word ends with “y”, you can use the penultimate letter instead of the last letter as the first letter of the next word.

defer (as in cede authority to)

respect (as in “deference”)

relinquish

hand (as in over)

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! JMcNeill was too slow (sorry).

Back to Taffy’s one.

Smelltheglove. Please pay attention. :stuck_out_tongue:

touching (as in “with respect to”)

grope (think it’s quite obvious :p)

Egg > gamete (reproductive cell)
Smooth, except “goose” wasn’t the word she should’ve used. Never mind. Let’s keep going with “gamete”.

embryo

embryo > obstetrics (branch of medicine dealing with pregnancy)
