ECCT SME-Centre Networking Event

As some of the readers here know the ECCT (European Chamber of Commerce) has opened a “SME-Centre” - a kind of committee that deals with the special needs of foreign owned or managed businesses in Taiwan. Usually these startup companies are small to medium enterprises, hence SME.

After the successful launch party in March the SME-Centre arranged another event just one week ago. It was a combined business and networking event, where two Taiwanese companies and two SME members presented themselves. The Taiwanese companies are winners of the “Taiwan Excellence Award” conducted a few days before that by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

The SME members presented themselves in an non-orthodox, but funny way by competing against each other in a “cocktail contest”, which results were consumed right after that by a jury. :raspberry:

Apart from these “presentations” wine and food was offered and lots of chances to mingle in a crowd of some 80 people. Not only SMEs were around, but again also some of the “big guys” from the industry and government. That one more time showed that the SME-Centre has gained awareness as the organization of a relatively new sector in Taiwan’s economy.

Watch out for more to come and stay tuned by visiting the SME-Centre at http://sme-centre.ecct.com.tw.

That sounds like a good event, IE one I would like to go to.

I hope you will announce your events here in the future. If possible, before they take place.
