Does anyone have information on assisted living facilities/ programs in Chiayi or Tainan?
My family and I have left the island. My father-in-law is living in the his hometown in the mountains and is in declining health: legally blind, chronic respiratory issues, increasingly frail. No local health care facilities.
My understanding is that hiring live-in help is more difficult these days, and flying back periodically is both more difficult and expensive due to Covid, and not sufficient to see to his needs and comfort.
He’s never again going to be strong and healthy, but with proper care and a better environment, he could be comfortable and engaged.
