Election news

That’s part of it, for sure.

But . . . if you turn out to be a turkey, no matter how much shouting happened beforehand, there may be consequences.

and now Korean Fish is the Speaker, didn’t do his promotion prospects any harm.

It’s only 8 years, but I’ve never seen so many people flaunting political swag (洋流 ribbons) in the entire time I’ve lived here. Hope this translates to actually going to the voting stations.

This has been one of the worst LYs I have seen in action in my multiple decades here, and that says something.

I could add details, but that’ll further pull this thread off topic, so I shall desist.

As I wrote, it’s been a good campaign. No idea if that will lead to a new mayor in the capital—we’ll see!

Very anecdotal, but a rather unfortunate poll for me: in my family (Taipei) here my wife and MIL will vote for Puma and hate the guts of Goodnight (fake) Chiang, my FIL, older brother in law and wife will vote blue since “that’s the way it is in Taipei and Chiang didn’t do anything bad so far”. I tried to ask what exactly he did during his term, deafening silence. Unfortunately my younger brother in law, who would have been another green vote, is abroad for work and won’t be voting.

The important thing is that differences in their evaluation of the current Taipei City political situation aren’t getting in the way of family members getting along.
