Election - voting eligibility

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know about voting in Taiwan’s presidential election while living in the U.S.? My boyfriend is a U.S. greencard holder, but still has his ROC passport and citizenship. Is there a way for him to still vote (i.e. by mail, the way it’s done in the U.S. if you live overseas or in another state)?

Thanks!

Marisa

No. Taiwan does not have an absentee ballot. If your bf wishes to vote in the Taiwan election, he will have to return to the place in Taiwan of his household registration.
