Electricity bill

hi,

I live in a rooftop apartment that has an Electricity meter but I don’t get a bill because I don’t think it is technically a legal structure (I don’t have a postbox either).

So the bill goes to my landlady, who lives on the floor below, she noted the number of the meter a month ago ( I just moved in) and came recently to take the next reading as the 2 month period was up.

Here are the meter numbers:

15558 on 3rd of May
16042 on 4th of June

She calculated the difference as 484 and multiplied that by 3.3 (I have no Idea where she gets this number) and I paid her NT1597.

A local friend of mine says it is way to high. The landlady is really nice I don’t think she would delibrately overcharge me.

But I don’t use that much power. My AC is old but I mostly use fans. Is there something I’m missing??

Cheers

I think the cost is 2.6 per unit until the end of May, and 3.3 in summer. Maybe you could make a habit of checking once a month, but with aircons it can get pretty high in summer. My flatmate sleeps with his aircon on, and I just checked we paid $2434 for two months.

Yikes! I just paid 800NT for two months!

I think it’s different everywhere because at my last place, I paid 800NT per month. :loco:

We just got our bill from feb and apr and it was 2400 nt.
We use 2 aircon and I like to leave lights on so it might be a little above average. during summer it is about 4 to 5 thousand for 2 months.

I used to live in roof top about the landylady. she was charging us about 4 thousand a month every month. One day I went down stairsto look at the box and saw that all the air con for 3 floors was wired into my box. she acted real surprised but she had to know.

Your bill seems ok but they all act nice before they rip you off.

Here’s a list with current Taipower rates: 台電

i pay 3.5NT per unit of electricity (kWh??) regardless of winter or summer…
