Elon Musk's Magnificent Rebranding of Twitter

It sounds like you’re extrapolating an awful lot from one case, and maybe even one article about it with very few details. That’s not convincing.

There are issues though, in this quick look turned up a good article

This is interesting. People really don’t like being taken advantage of, now do they?

the rules.are, of course subject to interpretation. if Kathy Griffin was tweeting from a @EIonMusk (capital i on the second.letter) handle or something, yeah, that seems like impersonation. given she was tweeting from @kathygriffin, it seems like it’s clearly not impersonation, even with a name tag of Elon Musk.

Any high profile ones, or randos?

I don’t think it even

Griffin wasn’t the only celebrity to impersonate Musk over the weekend. YouTube personality Ethan Klein and “Mad Men” actor Rich Sommer also say their Twitter accounts were suspended, according to NBC News.

It goes without saying that nobody believed it was actually Elon Musk, as it was clearly Kathy Griffin

There is a lot of adult content on twitter, swinger stuff, prostitution, porn star personal feeds etc.

It must be difficult to train AI to detect child porn. They obviously need to invest though

Like what?

Elon posing with overtime workers at 1:30am. All yellow and brown people.

That’s America, Baby!

Why is that an issue?

Man, you seem obsessed with this topic. I find it interesting. Also the guy in the foreground as well as some others is a brown as my ass cheeks. Also many, many IT workers in the USA are “brown” or “yellow”.

If you’re posting using the name Elon Musk and his photo, it’s impersonation. Pretty simple. I doubt most people look at the @.

Seems like the new Twitter (or something) was too much for Sam Harris. I’m sure we’ll hear from him about his reasons for deleting his account

Too much Samsara for his taste probably. Or too much negative feedback about his statement saying Trump is worse than Osama bin Laden, or that he’d ignore Hunter Biden having corpses of children in his basement if it kept Trump out of office.

I’m with @tempogain on this, expect to see a round of virtue signaling coming soon.

I’ve always had a lot of respect for Sam and can remember specifically thinking that in 2020, but his thinking has taken some odd turns recently. Not saying anything about this decision though, up to him what social media he chooses to use or not use.

He’s always given me a kind of creepy vibe. He projects a veneer of reasonableness, but I think deep down he prefers being surrounded by admiring groupies rather than open debate.

I never picked up on that, but haven’t followed his doings besides various talks and debates. I’ve never paid attention to Twitter. I know he dabbles in psychedelics, maybe hitting them a bit hard  After this Triggernometry thing I found his half-sorry on his podcast disingenuous and offputting, didn’t listen too long.

Yeah, that was pretty sad. He came off as hostile and defensive. I don’t think it’s the psychedelics though. More like he’s been microdosing on the TDS too long.
