Emergency evacuation coverage for travel in Asia

Hey,

I am planning to travel for more than six months around Asia, covering China, Nepal, and India. Do you know any travel agents in Taipei offering medical insurance for such an extended period? Is it even worth it? I plan to do some trekking, rafting, diving. The most important thing is for emergency evacuation costs to be covered (like getting transported by air if need be) because that tends to be rather pricey.

Hi,

If you cannot find anything suitable in Taiwan, try buying the travel insurance in Hong Kong from HSBC just before you travel to China
and the other places. The insurance can come with a CHina Medical Card for hospitalisation in China which is quite convenient, as well as evacuation (<HKD$600,000) expenses. You can get details here: http://www.hsbc.com.hk/script/hk/personal/insur/quo_trs.asp
