Emissions Test on Imported Vehicles

Hey Guys,
Still considering importing a car in the near future.
The emissions test, does anyone know the limits? If I end up importing from the states my reasoning is I can get the car tested over there before shipping it to make life easier. Surely the limits adjust with the car, ie: a dirty big V8, etc, must have some leeway (especially considering the higher import tax).
Otherwise I can envisage taking out the exhaust and welding in a line of cat converters… :stuck_out_tongue:

Reasoning has rather limited application here.

However, I think the limits do adjust with the car. I don’t think they’ll accept an overseas test “to make life easier”. That would defeat the object of the test.

the object of the test is to make life so difficult for you that you won’t import a car. Especially if you are a bignose with no guanxi.
