Engagement vocabulary-Chinese of course!

Hi All,

Is there an equivalent to " Will you marry me?" in Chinese.

I guess there must be. Please also post the bopomofo fo me so I can practise.

Thanx.

Loverman

This post may or may not work if you manually set your browser to Unicode (UTF8) encoding.

OOOh! That’s lots of words there. Thanks alidarbac. Please could you post the characters next to the bopo.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass.

I wouldn’t necessarily believe everything a Forumosan tells you, Loverman.

I’ll give you a clue:

放棄 give up
自由 freedom
性生活 sex life

:laughing:

P.S. very naughty, Alidarbac, what if the poor bugger is serious?

:wink:

:frowning: Sorry to sound like a twat, but you know, after studying Chinese for a year, you don’t automatically know everythingabout the Chinese language. This stuff just isn’t in the Shi Da books!

It is, and was a serious request.

Make sure you at least learn prenuptual agreement too. :wink:

Just kidding. Best of luck! :bravo:

Hey hey, don’t shoot the messenger!

The standard form is:

請妳嫁給我,好嗎?

qǐng nǐ ji

[quote=“Taffy”]請妳嫁給我,好嗎?

qǐng nǐ ji

Ahh, some sense at last. Thankyou!

Taffy - my previous post wasn’t aimed at you. Solly :slight_smile:

[quote=“Dragonbones”][quote=“Taffy”]請妳嫁給我,好嗎?

qǐng nǐ ji

Instead of 偕 (xie2) which is more used in the written form you might use 到 (dao4).
