I don’t know that one, but a bit of research shows it is as effective as tegretol, but tegretol provides better control of complex partial seizures and has fewer long-term adverse effects. That’s from the NIH website. Both are probably ok.

About driving, it is not allowed for people with epilepsy to drive in some countries. Can’t even have a driving licence. Not sure about Taiwan, though. Sometimes they can get their licence again after a year, but I think it would be a really bad idea even is she is allowed to to drive for at least several months until she’s sure it is under control. If you’re driving and have a seizure, that’s pretty much it.
