EPL Soccer on Taiwan TV?

I live in a rented apartment. The building provides cable TV with more than 100 channels. However, during weekends I don’t get a single coverage of EPL soccer. Yes, ESPN and whatever sports channels are available for the picking, but they’re all occupied by baseball.

Don’t Taiwanese watch Soccer ?

Actually Starsport and ESPN do show games, I think less frequent than last season.

A link to their webpage to check what they show, it’s for both channels:
http://www.espnstar.com/tv-listings/region1/day1/

today:
21:55 Live Barclays Premier League 2009/10
Match: Wigan Athletic vs. Manchester United

01:30 Barclays Premier League 2009/10
Match: Birmingham City vs. Stoke City

tomorrow:
22:55 Live Barclays Premier League 2009/10
Match: Fulham vs. Chelsea

They also have a highlights show and even show sometimes old games, like FA Cup classics so things got way better the last couple of years.

Other than that you have to go to sports bars or ask SatilliteTV to install you something.

Last night was the first time I experienced 'Live Telecast". Most of the time it’s baseball, baseball, baseball.

Exactly right - after the World Series (other countries need not apply) in October the number of games will increase sharply, right until the closing stages of the season which is when the baseball starts again and EPL coverage takes a nose-dive. Who needs to see the last month of action with teams desperately trying to avoid the drop? Much better to have the fourth replay of some pedestrian one run Yankees game which Der Wangster wasn’t playing in.

Oh, and check the SAP audio channel wotsit on your TV. You may be fortunate to have English commentary.

I’m disappointed that they showed Birmingham vs Stoke, but not Chelsea and Liverpool games.

Urm, that’s because the Chelsea and Liverpool games weren’t on yesterday. They’re on today and tomorrow.

That’s because Chelsea’s tonight (and it is on at 11) and Liverpool play Monday night (about 2 in the morning here).

EDIT - SHIT! ARSE! Beaten to it! Didn’t mean to look like a redundant prat.

Okay, I’m disappointed that I won’t get to see it tonight. If I’m not wrong, there will not be any live telecast tonight.

22:55 - Fulham/Chelsea - Star Sports

wow wee ! I’m watching the game now. What a pleasant surprise ! I last checked the espnstar program list it said nothing about soccer.

Damn! My beloved Fulham down 1-0 at half-time.

Not this year. FUBON BANK paid epsnstar to show EPL games after they won the rights to online betting last season. HOwever they lost a lot of money on the sports EPL betting as not enough punters.

This year they are not paying and has been confirmed by ESPN STAR Taiwan that they will not be showing as many games as they did last year as nobody is buying the rights to the EPL.

However every live EPL game is available on satellite TV.

Most unfortunate!

Is your Intrepipes satellite streaming thing going to be available for Mac soon, or still only Windows?

What is intrepipes streaming ? Are you referring to Justin.TV ? I used to enjoy free streaming from Justin.TV until they started this ‘upgrade to premium account’ nonsense.

Have always had a mac version with slingbox. HAVA do not have a MAC version as MAC users make up too small an amount if OS users. Most of my MAC user have the Windows OS and run the HAVA on that.

No it is a PAY TV service. Which means you pay for it it is not free.

Even Justin TV’s pay service crashes often due to being oversubscribed.

Ha ha Taiwan coverage on Football has always been a joke.

I gave up on TV’s years ago.

I watch the games online. Or download them a few hours later.

With a TV and 100 channels you’ll find in 1 hour you’ve surfed through utter shit and wondered what the hell happened to the hour I lost.
