EWCP Courses: Practicing Peace Starts Sunday March 3rd, 2013 7:30 pm -10:30 pm

“The true bodhisattva spirit grows out of this personal sense of freedom. You discover that you don’t feel so needy anymore. You don’t crave another refueling - with [relaxation] or with other people’s love and attention - because you know within yourself how to be free, how to be confident. With this sense of security and freedom, you begin to direct your attention to the needs of others. The compassion expands. This is the point about inner simplicity as the basis for living fearlessly in a complex world.”
-Tsoknyi Rinpoche

“The only way to bring peace to the earth is to learn to make our own life peaceful.”

Take a season to root yourself in the basics of traditional meditation and contemplative methods central to developing inner peace and the strength to uproot persistent problems in your relationship with yourself and others. End the evening with an open lecture from the Venerable Khenchen Rinpoche, who has been teaching Buddhism and meditation for over 30 years and has tens of thousands of students all over the world.

We will be drawing from authentic teachings in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition on how to approach personal situations in our day-to-day lives with calm determination and use that inner peace to transform the world around us. Instruction will be based around the six perfections, which help cultivate the clarity, perseverance and wisdom for personal growth and transformation.

This course will run for 16 weeks (1 semester).
