Excellent small shops in Taipei (or elsewhere) we love to support now

Chinita’s Cubano.
Uncle Philly.
Masa Taco.

Have you tried to take out tacos?

Does it work?

Guy

Correct.
I missed the reply on the other thread.

You can kill two birds with one stone with these two.

Sandwiches—easy to take out, and good for these hot days too.

Guy

Yes, before this outbreak I ordered tacos to go and ate them at a nearby park.

I’m glad to hear this works.

Masa is awesome. Support the good guys!

I like this place. Subber. Near MRT Zhishan Station.

Wow! I’ve walked by there tons of times and thought: cheap Subway knockoff.

What’s good about it?

Guy

It’s not cheap, has some overlap but they have many of their own flavours, including one that is a Peking duck and another that is a smoked salmon one.

I feel it is a higher quality place.

If it’s good enough for Marco, it’s good enough for me.

Then you’ll like Pino’s on Zhongshan Road North near Zhishan

High quality US-style pizza.

They have a new pizza only location further north up Zhongshan North Road closer to the American School.

Their panna cotta with Taiwan brown sugar sauce (i.e. heitang) is sublime. :slightly_smiling_face:

Sansianian friends with an inkling for great breakfast might want to head to Hambdas, or as I like to translate it to, Hamburger Master漢堡大師.

Great Croissant sandwiches, a phenomenal pineapple burger and their best, grilled/fried Danbings.

Not soft. Hard.

Purebread Bakery https://www.purebread.com.tw, maybe a ten (?) minute walk from Daan Station has absolutely mastered Western baking. They have breads, croissants, and various baked goods. If you order a week in advance, they can deliver (see menu in link). Absolutely worth the cost, which is about what I’d expect to pay in a large US city for similar quality.

They also have a soup and sandwich shop between Xinyi Anhe and 101 called Liquid Bread https://liquidbreadco.com. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard great things. That one is on Ubereats

For Xindian folk

Pizza Tower
They are really pulling all stops to stay in business. Aside from cooked ready to go meals like sandwiches, pita, pizza, pasta and salads, they have frozen goodies like pizza, meatballs, soups, sauces, etc. You can order through their Line account, too.
