yeah, the question is how long… seems like theres no way anyone could know that answer.
if its august, i would stay. october, i’d take the opportunity to head home for a bit
Review the situation in 2-3 weeks would seem to be a sensible move
Really? People have told me this is just the start. Also:
Looks like a dip usually occurs in July but doesn’t really subside til end of Sept
Last year there was very very very little rain in Taipei. This year there was even less rain in Taipei. So please do not start panicking just because it now rains. Seriously
Your name is Shui, so I feel like this might be a trick
I say stay, may be boring at the moment but home Gonna be any better?
I’m leaving because I’m in tourist visa so have to go eventually, plus I want to be vaccinated.
I’d rather stay tho.
Get on Tinder your vaccinated so gives you a big +
I think we will be in at least level 3 until September, more than likely till the new year.
Lets face it, even if they get the vaccines, they are gonna fuck up the rollout, you just know it.
Lol I actually did open my profile with “vaccinated” but no one wants to leave their house still
US would be better actually – they’ve restarted concerts and everything. Plus, friends
I spent summer time in Taiwan last year. In late July and August, it is rainy season.
Remember how you guys complained about Taipei 101? How ugly it was, that it was going to fall down, that they wouldn’t even be able to finish it? Now it is a key part of Taiwan and a must in relevant pictures.
That doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t still transmit it.
It’s unlikely – read the latest research
I’m on the EVA to NY right now. The flight is nearly as empty as the airport. I think there are 16 people in the back section of the plane. Every person has a 3 seats row to themself, and 2/3 of the 3-seat rows are empty. Everything seems well organized and safe so far.
I don’t think we will be level three so long. I’m gonna say July 1st. August 1st at the latest. There is no way that Taiwan will want to head into a new school year with schools closed.
20-40% according to some studies
That happened? Quite funny.
Months, years of a thread they kept unravelling.
That is why it is fun to look at past topics.
Huh. Unsurprising, but I hadn’t looked back at those things before. It does amuse me that most of the “you guys” that @Icon refers to are probably long gone from this forum.
Standing outside the Taibei World Trade Centre, which is just next door to the new ever-so-tall building, I couldn’t help noticing the fault running all along the length of the sidewalk. I was living near there in Xinyi District when the 921 earthquake struck, and there was a whole lot of shaking going on. I don’t feel very confident about the geology in that locality. I know what an earthquake feels like on the 12th floor of a building, never mind the 101st. Even without Osama bin Laden and Chi…
Um. I saw this little plastic wrap-like think dangling from one of the big Chinese coin ornaments on the side of the building closest to NY NY. Is it possible that they’ve decided to leave the plastic coatings on the building like many people do with chairs and door fixtures? Will it help protect the exterior of the building from corrosion and wear, and fingerprints? But then again it was night time so maybe it was just a floataway plastic bag or a worker’s hanky. Just curious.

You say that like its a good thing.

I mean I remember hearing about the 101 being the tallest building in the world in the news as a child. First time I heard about Taiwan probably. So definitely wasn’t me
Is there any thread about Forumosa demographics?
