When I cam to Taiwan, I was first very critical meeting other foreigners :saywhat: because my first experience with an Expat community was in the Domincan Republic.
EDIT: I talk about Sosua close Cabarete, which seems
to be the hardcore version of the German Expat community in
Dominican Rep.
The local foreign community in Dominican Rep. is mainly German and they are the most strange bunch of guys I have ever met. Seeing them approach me greasily when I had my few vacations there immediately gave me the “small criminal longing for your bank account” feeling.
The local boss of the scene was an older guy, owning a pension there on the estate of the local police chief, who … was usually to be seen in the company of say 15year old boys wearing a lot of gold necklaces ![]()
He was the shithouse (toilet) king of the Beach of this town Sosua.
And more strange things, brrrrrrrr. Never seen so cute tolitet attentants than his toilet girls, I must say. Sigh. Poor girls.
Yep, now Spiegel.de quotes from the German Gov. Foreign Office (Auswaertiges Amt) calling the local German community a bunch of Child Molesters, Murderers, Drug Dealers and stuff.
Because the Dominican gov does not deliver any criminals to Germany, no matter what.
Was an interesting vacation though, the local “General of the Navy” walking the beach to get money from the pimps and gals… :s
The pimp Admiral. Well…
So I am glad I am here, seems to be a little different here. A little more boring though :joker:
What are other Expat scenes like? More like Taiwan or more like Dominican Rep.?
