coffee margins are essentially like narcotics. even mcdonalds can serve “top end” beans. makes it obvious we are paying more for the water

It’s a marketing gimmick. The quantity of this kind of coffee is miniscule and in this case has nothing to do with profitability.

In another thread (I cannot seem to locate it) @PeiHua-Connie alerted us about the current availabilility of single origin Alishan coffee at McDonald’s here in Taiwan. I was curious about it and want to provide a short review about my experience drinking it. bought it today, I love the coaster they gave me, very useful at the office! slightly better than the normal maccas coffee, not worth the premium price over the regular, but good marketing move.

Good that it was better than the normal coffee, sometimes I find it bit bitter/sour.
