Fahrenheit 9/11?

Why isn’t this movie being shown here in Taiwan?
Political reasons or purely financial?
Anybody know for sure?

I don’t think Taiwan is going to show anything against the Bush administration, which has always been supportive on protecting Taiwan against China. I would think the reason is both political and financial. I saw the movie when I came back to the U.S. this summer. It was a pretty good documentary.

Or it could be that his movies just don’t do well here. “Bowling” bombed here.

Anna,

Pretty good? Were you on crack? You are not starting your postings on Forumosa in a good light!!!

I think the reasons are primarily economic. First of all, except for film festivals such as the Golden Horse Film Festival, fringe movies are not popular with the masses in Taiwan. So the movie will not make that much money.

Taiwan supports the U.S., but I am sure anti-American movies have been shown in Taiwan before. After all, Hollywood movies are full of anti-Bush rhetoric, however, the granola-eating masses in the US usually don

One of the online movie sites said it would be here Sept. 10th, but I tend not to believe it.
