Falsely accused of vague nonsense. Lawyer up? Workplace abuse rights?

Do it. They could technically sue you for breach of contract but it isn’t worthwhile and I highly doubt a public school would go down that path. Don’t settle for less than you deserve whether that be money, work environment, promotions etc

Cut your losses, there are good jobs around

I recently quit a job without notice after 3 days. The boss there spoke politely but was not subtle in that she always had an ulterior motive.
For example in the interview “We are right next to seven eleven, it’s really convenient if you want to go get something”
On the first day “you are not to leave the buxiban under any circumstances even between classes. You must order food panda” - she also said this nicely and i replied politely but it was a wtf moment…

Just quit, getting a new job will be easy. It just might take a few before you find somewhere you’re happy. Once you’ve found somewhere you’re happy, don’t quit.

Were you in Phnom Penh? If so, an added bonus of being in a great little city!

Just don’t get caught up in Taiwanese human trafficking rings.

Phnom Penh is not really to my taste! Yes, a few quaint strolls through interesting neighborhoods and all conveniences. But the traffic and dusty air quality are both bad.

The little university is on the coast in Sihanoukville… Fresh air, beaches. I arrived before the influx of Chinese investors. The streets are rebuilt and okay now, but few Western expats remain. Beaches near town and on the islands are great…

The current conditions in Sihanoukville—with the casinos and the types that come along with such establishments—have not, I’ve heard, improved the vibe. It sounds like you were there at the right time.

It’s pretty easy to get the Ministry of Labor to look into it for you, and you don’t need a lawyer. They’ll be able to set up some arbitration for you.

I had a great week chilling there circa 2013. Just dollar beers and used books and no place to be for a week

You can quit, ignore the bullshit, and still finish the contract while collecting your salary. Quit quietly

Don’t let this suck your time and energy. Try to brush it off and use your resources for looking for a new job. If you happen to find a new job that starts before this one is done, then you can quit loudly

And good Indian curry :face_holding_back_tears:

Sadly, there’s nothing left of the chilling beach at Otres. But u can still find dollar beers here and there. There are still other places to hide nearby and in the Koh Rong islands. Ironically, since 2020, many beaches are deserted… Near my place, a bicycle ride away, I hung my hammock under the shady trees during COVID and had the whole sea to myself… Just the sun, a cool breeze and a sighing wave…

I did this and it infuriated the boss.
