Hi All, I need to settle a bet with an long term ex-pat here.
Is the Farmhouse the oldest pub/club in Taipei which is still open today? ( in the Zone next to My Place)
Good on Sunday afternoons! ( Philippina’s a plenty)
The first pub ever open in Taipei is still open, it’s downstairs from that angled lane that runs behind the plaza behind the Tunhua-Chunghsiao Starbucks there. Kind of inside the southwest corner.
But not terribly popular with the foreigners.

He’s right - it was definitely a Ploughmans. I was there when it was plougman’s on the first floor, Mongolian BBQ in the basement. I watched Ben Johnson sprint to glory on the TV there in 1988, whilst drinking a Labatt’s 50.

Happy Friday, the chief. Tell you what, let’s have a beer. I know just the place. The oldest bar in Taipei. I’m not sure if foreigners go there, though.
