Favorite study spots in Taipei

Today while studying at my local library I came to the realization that I shouldn’t be wasting my time studying in such a boring, familiar place. Surely there are a ton of great study spots around the city that could allow me to satisfy my academic needs (pushes glasses up nose) while seeing more of Taipei.

So what suggestions might you all have? I’m thinking along the lines of places that would be cool to check out anyway, but would happen to also make great study spots. For example, are there any good spots in the mountains looking down on Taipei? Maybe a teahouse or something?

Maokung (Maogong) in the South of Taipei is nice. And there are some teahouses up in Yangming Shan from where you can see the city. Or Chiufen (Jiufen) from where you can overlook the ocean, though it’s a bit further out (1-1.5 hour(s) by bus).

Let us know what part of town you’re in; there might be some nice spots nearby. Personally, I like to study in parks, and Dahu Park in Neihu is near me. The lake, forested hill and arched bridge are quite a scenic backdrop for one’s studies. :sunglasses:

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m actually in Dazhi, so really close to Neihu. You know I’ve never seen the lake at Neihu, now that you mention it that would be a great place to check out, thanks. What’s the forested hill?

My guess is its a hill with lots of trees on it.

ouch… I was asking for that one…

Get a season ticket to ride on the Ferris wheel. Lots of fun, studying high in the sky over Dazhi.
