FBI Background Check - work permit/visa/arc question

Hello!

I have recently found a job that interests me but it does not start until closer to March.

I had my FBI background check completed awhile back on September 3rd 2019 due to travel plans. The six month period “expires” March 3rd.

Because this job may not start until closer to March, I wanted to ask a specific question.

In the case my work permit gets processed at the end of February/early March, how does this 6 month deadline work? If the application is submitted before the the 6th month period is up, is it okay? For example, it gets submitted on February 27th but doesn’t get processed until the 8th, where does March 3rd stand as the 6th month “expiration” date? It would suck so badly to get rejected even if the permit application is submitted before the 6 months is actually up!

It’s hard to find any exact specifics on this in forums so any info would be helpful!

Also, because I am planning to be a teacher, I come to understand I will get a visitor visa and then my ARC. I don’t need the FBI background check for these, right? Just the work permit that has already been backed with the background check?

correct.

you could ask to workforce development agency.
