Then again those bottles may be the WMD which the US was looking for …
Saddam was a threat. Every report determined this. What he did not have was wmds, though he had the ability and intention to restart these programs once sanctions collapsed. You know this Rascal. It has been discussed endlessly. It was the official position of your own government INCLUDING Fischer AND Schroeder. They merely disagreed that he had wmds. They were right but the intent, the danger? Make no mistake. That was there.
If you continue to try to deliberately provoke the Forumosa community with such “lies” (haha) I am going to have to write the next Gunther Grass novel myself! Have a good Christmas and Happy New Year!

Fred
Fred is correct though he wears the truth so poorly these days one can be forgiven for still finding it too shabby to don oneself.
I know for a fact that Saddam invented the chicken flu virus in his biological weapons labs because he knew it would fuck up the only industry left in America – the fast food industry – and then we’d all be left with no jobs and nothing left to eat and we’d all have to join the Army then just to survive.
There’s also plenty of evidence that he’s fucking with the U.S. housing industry from beyond the grave. Just Google ‘Voodoo Economics’ and see the evidence for yourself. I tell you, nothing’s going to stop that bad man from destroying the U.S. short of some serious cosmic ass-kicking.
Fred wears the suit just fine. Its actually more a case of the Emperors New Clothes in reverse for may posters here. ![]()

:bravo:
I think the Emperor’s Body Armor is a more apt tribute to Fred and all he’s done for his country. After all, he and a few other psychedelically far-sighted Americans have almost single-handedly saved the United States from sure annil . . . anhil . . . annhile . . . being blown up by that madman Saddam Hussein who was this close to going full nuclear back in 2003 when we had the good sense to stop him.
Yeah, but he had to buy the body armor himself as his country wouldn’t supply it.
Look, everybody knows the realities here even if people like Rascal insist on denying them. Sometime after 2008 when George Bush left office his successor was sure to have relaxed sanctions on Iraq. Saddam Hussein would only have been 74 by then and he would immediately have had his henchman dig up that uranium enrichment facility he had buried in his backyard and before we knew it they’d be back in business.
Sure, it might have taken them ten or fifteen more years to actually perfect a first-strike capability because they’d have to do it without anybody noticing anything but Saddam would only have been 90 years old by then.
Plan B, of course, would have been to strap a nuclear bomb on the back of an al Qaida terrorist and order him to fly to New York and set it off. With New York gone Saddam would rule the world. One minor problem with that plan though, as recent events have shown, would be in finding the right al Qaida terrorist – one who would be able to make it out of Baghdad in one piece without setting his bomb off first because he’d be so pissed at seeing all those women walking around without veils on.
There’s always Plan C, though, if the Sunnis decided they weren’t entirely comfortable handing a nuclear bomb over to Osama bin Laden to use as he saw fit but I’ll get into that later.
Of course, even if Saddam were 74, his sons Uday and Qusay were quite young and much more amenable to international fora than he. Right?
I find it very amusing to read about some “final proof” that Saddam was no threat. Not as amusing as I find Fred’s claim it was proven that he was … but still fun.
“Threat” has a very high level of subjectivity, mostly the one what one is afraid of. There are of course certain elements which can be discareded as unlikely (delivery capability) while others can be viewed as plausible (Saddams wish to have such delivery capacity). But when it comes to threat levels the subjective element what one actually is scared by and fears puts a bit of a cap on how much one can ‘proof’ such threat.
Fred may be easily scared and pee his pants because of the wishful thinking and ambitions of tinpot dictators. And though Fred may not be able to produce a written confession by Saddam admitting WMDs where high on his list of Christmas Wishes, circumstantial evidence makes it more than likely that Saddam had such wishes. The threat of bad intent is surely something Fred can proof.
Others may demand more substantial threats to start a war though. Like actual WMDs, delivery capability and if not in place then at least clearly in the making. Preferrably aimed at the US and not some local rival like Iran, Kuwait or Israel. Proof of such a threat to the US may be a lot harder to come up with.
To each his own
I’m blanking out here, Fred. So Uday gets the bomb. Then what? He attacks the U.S. with his one or two bombs? He gives one of the bombs to al Qaida? What’s the “we’re all going to die” scenario if a punk playboy like Uday who just wants to have a good time gets a big bomb to go along with his little tweeter?
What a pile of nonsense.
First of all it is spelled “nucular bombs”. And second: it is 2 bombs, 2 sons, 4 rings; each son gets one bomb, 2 rings; Sauron wins though with the one; simple as that, end of discussion.
I assume you majored in math and literature on the same university where Fred did in nazi history, correct spook?

games, I don’t know how it works in Germany but in the U.S. there’s no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.
I agree with the main point you’re making though – that the Pipedream for a New American Century is the real threat here with its claptrap that some petty dictator in the Middle East had some suicidal scheme to attack America so we had to attack first.
Talk about a pile of nonsense. It’s hard to believe that anyone with even a minimal education could have fallen for such transparent warmongering. Sad, really. I just hope we’ve learned our lesson.
Spook, let’s go pick up some girls. Remember girls?
Spook is happily married so leave any temptations out of this or should I say auf das haha.
Again, the TWO of you can think whatever you like. The envisioned threat was one down the road. Bush did not say it was imminent. Kenneth Pollack, a Democrat, said despite the difficulties and messes and the carnage that would follow (he predicted this all quite accurately and given that he was an advisor for presidential administrations since oh 1991 or so it was highly unlikely that Bush and his team never entertained the possibilities that Iraq would implode. Again, the cake walk was for the invasion) that removing Saddam was the best of many bad options. Why? Because Saddam and his sons would have re-invaded Kuwait and maybe even Saudi Arabia. With a nuke in their possession… who was going to go in to remove them? with that nuke sitting over the oil fields. According to Pollack, Saddam was uniquely placed and strangely and psychologically immune to threats of retaliation or even of throwing the whole world into an economic depression. This was what pushed the administration to invade.
Now, for such a warmongering country as the US, why only two nations? Afghanistan and Iraq? Because we are not in a position to do the same to Syria, Pakistan, North Korea or Iran. We don’t have to anymore with regard to Libya and ironically IF the NIE report and assessments regarding Iran’s nuclear weapons program are correct, then maybe invading Iraq did have some very direct benefits. You people cannot have this both ways. Why did Iran stop its program in 2003? Think of it 2003? Anything special happen in 2003? Like Libya, I am sure that it was merely a grand great fantastic coincidence that had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the American invasion of Iraq.
I am in this for the long haul and I don’t piss my pants not even after two bottles of Champagne. I said we would be there for 60 years, we will. I understood what this involved going in. I still support our efforts. I understand our limitations. That is why you do not see me singing for an invasion of or attack on Iran anytime soon, ditto for North Korea. Truly a pity about not taking out Syria when we had the chance though. THAT I regret. AND I understand that it is too late. More’s the pity.
You know what fred? You make sense. I do not give a fuck about the lives of people in the middle east. The oil belongs to he strongest people. We will take it because we can.
fuck them. Let’s put everybody in jail.
Because the reason for its nuclear weapons program – to deter another invasion by Saddam Hussein like the first one in which more than a million people died and Saddam had used chemical weapons against Iranian civilians – had been permanently removed.
