Hello all
I am currently looking for a decent TEFL position in Taipei, hopefully starting either side of Christmas
From what I have encountered online it seems a great deal of people go to Taiwan without a job and find one there - this is some of the advice I have received anyway.
I however am not really able to do this, I don’t have the funds to put myself up for a couple of months without pay and to be honest would be nervous about not having the job security before flying all that way.
So I was hoping some people on this forum might be able to assist me with finding recruiters, schools or companies that hire people from overseas and give them a contract before they enter the country. (PS I have already tried HESS but they have filled all positions atm)
Also - as I will be entering Taiwan alone at first I was wondering what the best way to go about meeting people and getting a good group of mates together is? It’s not something I’m worried about as I’ve always made friends around the world - but if theres any clubs, sportsteams, online groups, foreigner bars that’d be great in helping with the transition. Is there a place online where people advertise for flatmates?
