First to taiwan then to the mainland --- problems?

my parents are planning a visit here in taiwan before travelling on via hongkong to mainland china.
they have heard some alarming reports of massive delay at the customs in hong kong (obviously due to a prior stay in taiwan).

can anyone confirm that having had similar experiences?
or is it no problem at all?

Never heard of anything like this, and i visit the Mainland quite often.

Only delays i have had are normally due to inefficient ground staff.
